Past Events

March 2021: Women's History Month

Although we weren't able to celebrate in person, our team created this video about how women at Vena manage imposter syndrome in their everyday lives. We also have some blogs about challenging the issues women+ face in the workplace that you can check out.
N4W Liberating Voices

July 2020: Liberating Voices Within Modern Feminism

In July, N4W and AWN partnered to organise an authentic and important panel discussion that needs greater attention in Canada's technology landscape. The panel discussion focused on Liberating Voices Within Modern Feminism highlighting our Indigenous and Black communities and the systematic challenges they face in the workplace and everyday life. The objective was to discuss how we all can help elevate these voices in hopes for a better future for our Black and Indigenous women+ as allies and supporters to change the narrative.
N4W Lets Talk Empathy

May 2020: Let's Talk Empathy

In this event, Dr. Anita Nowak talked about everything from checking in on oneself to exploring different techniques for being more empathetic in our daily lives to examining how lacking empathy can impact our relationships, those we interact with, and how we feel. The session was followed by an open Q&A, where attendees engaged with Anita and and shared their stories about how they have experienced or struggled with empathy. This event was a DWYC (donate what you can) that raised 1K+ , which was split between two organizations: United Way (honouring Crystal Furtal) and Artistri Sud (an organisation that supports women's empowerment around the world through entrepreneurship).

March 2020: International Women's Day

In recognition of International Women’s Day (IWD), we celebrated women+ in tech throughout March. N4W is passionate about driving change internally and externally, and we proactively look for opportunities to recognize the achievements of women+ across the industry and to promote inclusivity, diversity and equality within the workplace.
