The Challenge: Fragmented Reporting Across 25 Branches

Kintec, a custom footwear manufacturer and retailer operating under Evora Equity, faced growing challenges in financial and operational reporting. While the company had recently migrated to Sage Intacct for its ERP, reporting within Intacct was limited to financial data, making it difficult to blend in KPIs such as point-of-sale history, CRM data, and payroll metrics.


Without a unified reporting framework, the financial model became “just an absolute beast to run.”


Variance analysis often took two to three days of back-and-forth between accounting and operations, with fragmented dashboards and manual reconciliations slowing down decision-making. 


To solve these challenges, the team selected Vena for its Excel-native interface and native integration with Sage Intacct, providing a platform that was both familiar and scalable.

Real-Time Insights Powering Smarter Decisions With Vena

By connecting finance and operational data in one place with Vena, Kintec was able to:

Instead of waiting weeks for manual reporting, operations leadership and executives now have timely insight into underperforming locations, payroll-to-sales ratios, and other critical KPIs.

 

The finance team can now complete 80–90% of variance reviews within half a day, compared to multi-day efforts before Vena.

 

Operations leaders use Vena dashboards to identify underperforming branches mid-month, engage managers on staffing or scheduling issues, and take corrective action before month-end results are finalized.

 

Crucially, the move to Vena has strengthened collaboration between Finance and Operations. Leaders now understand coding choices better, improving data accuracy. Consistent location and account tagging make branch-level KPIs—such as payroll-to-sales ratios, orthotics sold, and assessments completed—easy to monitor and report. They also support reliable year-over-year comparisons.

 

As a next step, the organization wants to expand its operational and executive dashboarding with Vena Insights, aiming to streamline board reporting and deliver high-level visuals alongside granular branch data, tailored to senior leaders.

 

Finally, Kintec is looking forward to exploring Vena’s Fabric-based data hub to centralize high-volume customer history, improve performance, and future-proof analytics for AI reporting with a more scalable enterprise reporting infrastructure.
